I recently had a procedure at the Woodlands Hospital and the care was above and beyond. All the nurses, staff and doctors so very caring and reassuring right from the reception. At every stage I felt looked after and truly valued and with all that said, I'm not a private patient and at no point did I feel any other.
I'm so grateful to have been looked after with such care and patience, any kind of operation or procedure is a worry and can make you feel anxious but the whole time I was there I felt reassured about what will happen. Also the after care advice was so valuable as my recovery is going so well.
Thank you
They should train their receptionists / appointment bookers on basic manners especially considering they're speaking to people forking out hundreds of pounds to use their services. I was spoken to as if I was asking the lady for a favor at great personal expense to book me in, not that ill be spending £1000s with them on procedures. I advise they return to their old GP surgery receptionist jobs as that's where it feels they've gotten them from. Ill be finding an alternative provider and this receptionist cost this hospital my business.
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, whose dedication and kindness made my stay a comfortable one. Their professionalism and unwavering support are a testament to the high standard of care at Woodland Hospital. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone in need of medical treatment or surgery.
I have been suffering from very severe spine and hip pain for over 2.5 years. I have had MRIs done at a private clinic and hospital in Kettering, as well as at Woodland Hospital, and have a report stating the problems. In this hospital, the consultant said that he did not know where my pain was coming from and that my spine was fine. There has been some healing and I cannot exist without the drugs. I do not recommend this place .
My review is based upon my experience with Dr Ashish Kelkar and Dr Ajay Verma. I should note that my experiences were both via Bupa as a private patient.
Both doctors were extremely professional, polite and easy to deal with. The teams within the hospital supporting both doctors were also absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately I forget the name of the nurse I dealt with, but all are a credit to this hospital and the team.
Thank you to team for your care and treatment during a worrying time.
Hugely unprofessional. I was scheduled for knee replacement surgery today and admitted at 0715. All the pre-op checks were done and I was changed ready for the Op only to be told it would not be happening as the consultant was not available due to serious illness in the family. Whilst this is unavoidable (and would have been nice to know before being admitted) it is the lack of follow-up thereafter which guiles. I was left in my room awaiting instructions on what would happen next. After an hour had passed I went to the nurses station to be told I could leave and I would get a call later. I have just called the reception to ask when I can expect a call back to be told they don't know anything about any cancelled operations (4 hours after the fact). This is the second time I have witnessed this from Woodland with my wife being abandoned after surgery to the point where she just walked out without being discharged. They charge a phenomenal amount for private care but are as disorganised as the NHS.
I had a follow up clinic appointment to discuss findings following bowel biopsies. My appointment was for 5pm. At 5.45pm I was finally called in. The consultant did not apologise for the delay, although he was perfectly pleasant. Once in his room I was told he did not have the biopsy results yet and that he would arrange another appointment for me to return in a further two weeks. I was in with him for about three minutes. I have always had the best care from various NHS departments, but this was the first time I felt more like a 'patient' rather than a person (I.e. a 'number'). I struggle with anxiety and after the long wait for what l am hoping is good news my anxiety levels are through the roof. Would it not have been better if a check was made earlier in the day to see if the results were available? I could then have been called and told not to come in. Also, if clinics are running late, which I know can happen, it would be nice to be kept informed. That said I still have huge faith in the NHS.
Surgery went well, but what impressed me the most was the care shown from the on duty nurses. Amisha was absolutely amazing and the night nurse who was on that night was also really great. I felt very well looked after.
I would recommend Woodland Hospital, Many thanks.
